Spanish stations exist in nearly every radio programming format in most large cities in the United States. The format is also known as Latin. Cities with more Spanish speaking people have more Spanish radio stations. The Spanish format has Spanish-speaking listeners of all ages. Some formats are unique to Spanish radio:
Regional Mexican includes Spanish language artists from Mexico, Latin America and other Hispanic areas. The music consists of romántica, mariachi and tropical.
Salsa, merengue, mambo, cumbia, sabrosita, Andean, bossa nova, samba, tango and bachata are a few of the other styles. Some stations specialize in one or two of the musical styles, and others play more of a combination.
